Crocheting...

Frogged all my knitting, I'm stuck for the moment on my weaving, so last night I picked up a crochet hook and a couple patterns I had printed off the net and made bookmarks. The two crosses are from a pattern my grandmother used to make.
The other two are net patterns. I had a couple ball so of thread plied with a metallic at hand, so they are the ones that got used.
I printed a free pattern from Annie's Attic for a vest with the pineapple pattern. I like pineapples. Hers is in thread, but also a small size. I think if I use yarn, I can make it fit me. Maybe. But I have to finish this weaving first. And the sweater I've been working on most of the winter as well. But I think I should be up in the loom shop this morning. ;0)

Home again

We're back from our trip around the North West. Got into Oregon, Idaho, and Washington. This country has some really beautiful country and we totally enjoyed the trip and want to go again. Here's Randy watching the train go by and studying the rock formations across the Colombia Gorge. We just watches a tug push two barges though the watergate at the John Day dam. That was pretty neat, too. Check my other blog for a picture of Crater Lake, that's a beauty worth the visit if you get the chance!

But we're home again for awhile. We stopped at the nursery in Medford on the way back so I guess I'd better be doing some yard work this week!

Happy Easter!

Indian Winter?

Indian Summer is a lat warm spell, so I guess Indian Winter would be late snow? The forsythia is in full bloom now and getting frosted. This snow is very light and dry and I don't expect much but I was rather enjoying the warm sunny weather. Oh well, it'll be back and I can spend the day catching up on my fibering!

Yes, it's here.

They are calling for rain and cold to start the week but today it was into the 70's and FINE! Yesterday I worked in the yard and also some today, but today was loom shop and art homework. I'm ahead of everyone else now. Good thing a classmate called! lol I was doing the assignment for May 21 rather than for March 21. Oh well, I got a start on that one, anyway, and did manage to have time to do the correct one as well. Aren't I sumpthin'?!

Spring?

Spring is in the air. Still some rag-tag piles of dirty snow here and there but things are starting to bud and the daffies are pushing up. Won't be long now. I'm ready. I've sworn to get more involved with yard work this year and maybe get some of my flower beds back into working order. We'll see...

But even as "wild lands" the yard is pretty and the butterflies & birds enjoy it. No sunshine so far today... looks like we might get a shower, but it'll be wet and not white. That's what counts!

Spring storm

I'm home again. Got to spend three extra days with Sis while the storm raged and the pass was closed. Well... it didn't actually rage, but it did put down nearly 4' of snow in the pass and since it's not a main road I had to wait until they had time to clear. And on the way up, I passed the crew standing by the snow blower, long faces and all hatches open. They assured me they had a mechanic on the way, but that might have added a bit to the clearing time as well.
But we needed the snow and it'll melt off pretty fast this time of year and we can look forward to Mud! That's the next season, right?!
